The Alyeska Tram: Seeing Alaska from a different level

Alyeska Tram Ride in Alaska

The view of the mountains from the Alyeska Tram

The fun thing about coming back to your home state after a long absence is being able to play tourist. I was excited to check out the Alyeska Resort — a place I don’t know if I’ve ever been — especially after hearing about the tram that could take us to the top of the mountain. It was a short excursion but totally worth it, so gorgeous!

  1. You’ve been to that area but probably not right at the resort. The last time I was there it was so foggy and cloudy the tram wasn’t running. I was really disappointed. Looks beautiful!

    • Well it was a little spendy to go up but totally worth it. They have a little gift shop and dining room up there too. The view was fantastic! It’s been gorgeous since I got here. Clear blue skies and lots of sun.

  2. That top picture gave me vertigo.
Beautiful, reminds me of a hike I like to do in Skagway where there’s a lake at the top and the views are similar when you get there. And on the way down, there’s a hillside that’s often covered with porcini mushrooms.
