A quick moment to appreciate the quirkiness of cats

A few weeks ago, I was in the middle of changing my sheets and digging out all of the throw pillows from underneath the bed, when I was distracted by the siren call of Law & Order SVU. A few hours later, I returned to complete the task and found this waiting for me…

Hey, as long as he’s comfortable right?

Oh Lucifer, you used to be such a street-smart alley cat. Now look at you — you’re like a feline version of the Princess and the Pea.

Some people say it’s opposable thumbs that separates man from beasts — I believe it’s the inherent fear of the vacuum. My cats instantly flee the room if I so much as look at the vacuum. If I actually use it, they cower in fear under the bed. Here’s Gus Gus, an hour after I’ve finished, checking to see if it’s safe to come out yet.

He promised he would be fluffy, he never said he’d be brave.

  1. Funny! Love that Lucifer is perched in the very center of your bed. When Bailey hops into bed with us and spoons between us, we always comment on his beginnings living by a dumpster in West Virginia till he was 3 months old. He’s definitely enjoying his new cushy digs. 🙂

    • It’s funny how quickly they acclimate to a cozy existence! Lucifer is a huge fan of sleeping on us, and when we first picked him up off the streets he used to alternate throughout the night. He went from rough-and-tumble to a total cuddle kitty.
