Last weekend, I went out with a friend to celebrate her birthday. We did a progressive dinner party — traveling to four different downtown restaurants, drinking wine and eating our way through their menus.
One of our stops was Kin, a personal favorite because the chef is a total sweetheart and his food is amazing. These two dishes were some of the best things we ate that night. In a way, they reminded me of Angels on Horseback and Devils on Horseback. Not because they were wrapped in bacon, but because one was so perfectly light, delicate and ethereal. The other was dark, fatty and decadently rich.
Talk about heaven meeting hell…
